Frequently Asked Questions about my Halifax Wine Tours

What does a tour day look like?

Tour days are so much fun! I will pick you up at your door, bring you coffee and we will head up to the valley - it takes about an hour to drive up, so we get to know each other and learn a bit about Nova Scotia and the wine it produces.

We will visit three wineries, one is usually a lunch stop. Every winery does things a little differently, but they all give an incredible experience with stunning wines.

We usually will have time for an extra stop along the way to get some quick photos, learn a bit more history, or do some shopping!

What makes your tour better?

Get the best value for your money on a wine tour this season. Wine & Vine offers complimentary pickup and drop off at your door and a personalized itinerary every time! My experience working the vineyards and cellars allows me to guide you through the vines with expert-level knowledge.

Its the little things that make a big difference - the coffee and snacks are always a treat.

3

Having a hard time nailing down a tour date?

Weekends and the fall book up fast, so be sure to reach out for availability. I'm flexible and can often  make changes to the itinerary on a few days notice if you need to add an extra guest or two.

4

Nova Scotia has wineries?

Yes! Amazing ones at that! Visit Canada’s oldest wine region. We are small and quaint but our wines pack a big punch! You can find incredible sparkling wines, and our Tidal Bay is the only appellation in North America (ask me about it, I'll talk your ear off all day!)

5

What wineries should we visit?

Allow a Nova Scotia wine expert to select the best wines for your pallet. Just let me know what you prefer to drink at home and I'll make sure you leave with a new favourite wine!

6

A 6 hour day seems long. Can we do it faster?

My tours are flexible and I can work with your schedule. The recommended time is a 6-7 hour day to be able to relax and enjoy the wines. With some careful planning, I can adjust the schedule and do the tour in as little as 5 hours.

7

What type of food can you expect on your tour?

The culinary scene in Nova Scotia is absolutely incredible. I’ve had guests from all around the world enjoy meals at our wineries. You can chose from amazing local seafood options and wood fired pizza. Have allergies? No problem, let me know and the restaurants can accommodate you.

8

Want to see things other than wineries?

My itineraries are flexible, and include extra time to make sure you have the best time. Based on your interests, I’ll suggest a couple extra things we can do on your tour. You can take a walk to see the tides (the highest tides in the world) or a trip to a museum, or extra shopping, we can fit it in.

9

Want more wine?

Or do you just want more time to taste more wine? You can stick around the wineries a little longer so you can have an extra glass or two, or add an additional winery to the itinerary (a stop at an additional winery will be at a rate of $30 per person).

10

Do you want something extra special?

I love making experiences extra special. You can order pastries from a local bakery or a bouquet of flowers from a local florist.

11

Is the schedule flexible? (cruise ship pickups)

Always! I can work with your schedule, especially ensuring you make it back to your cruise ship berth. You can even book tours on select evenings based on winery opening hours.

12

What does the vehicle look like?

My tours are in the comfortable and reliable Subaru Ascent. My vehicle can fit up to 7 people. The vehicle is equipped with everything you didn’t know you needed for the day  (medication, water, snacks, phone chargers, hair spray, as well as a cooler to keep anything you buy along the way fresh). You name it, I’ve got it.

13

What happens after a tour?

I truly hope that I’ve given you an incredible experience. Gratuities are accepted, but not expected. I would love it if you left me a review or tagged me on social media.

14

Do you do tours year round?

Yes! All the wineries are typically operating from May to December. There is weekend availability in January-April. I can always make something work by adding a brewery or cidery in as well.

Thinking about booking but have some questions before you take the next step? I hope you find your answerers here, but if you don't, you can ask the chat box, or send me and email and I'll respond ASAP!
